Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Live On LLC (“Live On,” “we,” or “us”) handles information through the Live On Family Memory Archive and this public website.

What Live On is

Live On is a private, invitation-based family archive. It allows approved family members to preserve memories and media, document people and pets, propose family-history information, and review what may be shared with the family. The public website contains no family archive records.

Information we handle

Account and membership information

When someone signs in to the private archive, we may receive a stable account identifier, email address, and display name from the authentication provider. We use this information to identify the member, apply archive permissions, attribute contributions, and send operational notices.

Family archive content

Approved members may provide written memories, photographs, documents, audio, video, portraits, names, dates, relationships, residences, household history, life events, comments, confirmations, disputes, suggested changes, and consent or review decisions. These records may concern the contributor or another person or pet.

Technical and operational information

We may process request timestamps, file names, media types, file sizes, checksums, workflow status, audit events, and security or error information needed to operate and protect the archive. We do not use the archive for behavioral advertising.

Google Drive data

Only the archive owner authorizes Live On to use Google Drive. Ordinary family members are not granted direct access to the owner’s Drive.

Live On requests limited Google Drive permission so it can create, read, update, organize, and move to trash archive files that Live On created or that the owner explicitly made available to Live On. Live On does not use this permission to inspect unrelated Drive content.

Google data is used only to preserve and retrieve the family archive, maintain revisions and recovery records, verify archive integrity, and perform organizer-requested withdrawal or restoration operations. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or transfer it for unrelated purposes.

Google API Limited Use. Live On’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

How information is used

When information is shared

Archive material is shared only as directed through the family review and publication workflow. A contribution beginning as a private draft does not become family-visible merely because it was uploaded. The archive owner and technical service administrators may have access needed to operate, secure, back up, or troubleshoot the service.

We use service providers—including hosting, authentication, email delivery, and Google Drive—to operate the archive. They receive only the information needed to provide their services under their applicable terms and privacy obligations. We do not sell family archive information.

Retention, withdrawal, and deletion

Information is retained while needed for the family archive, security, legal obligations, or recovery. Withdrawing a contribution removes its active family visibility and may move its Drive folder to trash while preserving a limited audit or recovery record. Google Drive trash and backups may retain recoverable copies until the archive owner permanently removes them under Google’s controls.

Members may ask the family organizer to correct, withdraw, or restrict information. Because family history may include statements supplied by several relatives, Live On may preserve provenance and revision history rather than silently rewriting another contributor’s original account.

Security

Live On uses verified identity, membership checks, server-side authorization, protected media routes, limited Drive access, and audit records. No system can guarantee absolute security. Members should protect their accounts and avoid sharing private archive links or devices with unauthorized people.

Information about children

Live On is not offered to the general public as a children’s service. An authorized family member may preserve information about a child only when they have an appropriate family or legal basis to do so. The organizer controls membership and family visibility.

Your choices

You may decline to contribute, keep eligible contributions private, request correction or withdrawal, disconnect an authorized Google account through Google’s account controls, or ask the organizer to suspend your archive membership. Disconnecting Google Drive may prevent archive storage and retrieval until the owner reconnects it.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as Live On develops. The effective date above identifies the current version. For privacy questions or requests, contact the Live On family organizer who invited you or use the support email displayed in the archive’s Google authorization information.
