Terms of Use

These Terms govern use of the Live On Family Memory Archive and public website provided by Live On LLC (“Live On,” “we,” or “us”). By using the private archive, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

Family archive use

Use Live On only for material you are permitted to contribute. Respect privacy, consent, copyright, and the dignity of the people represented. Do not upload unlawful, harmful, deceptive, malicious, or infringing content.

Accounts and access

Archive access is personal and may not be transferred. The family organizer controls membership and archive publication decisions. A profile, self-representative, or steward role does not grant ownership of another person’s contributions or unrestricted authority over the archive.

You are responsible for safeguarding the account and device used to access Live On. Notify the organizer if you believe access has been compromised. We may suspend or revoke access to protect the archive or respond to misuse.

Your contributions

You retain any rights you hold in content you contribute. You grant Live On and the family organizer permission to store, reproduce, organize, protect, display, and share that content only as needed to operate the archive and apply the permissions and review decisions you select.

You represent that you have the right to contribute the material and that required recording or storage consent has been obtained. When a recording includes another person, you must have that person’s intentional agreement or another lawful basis before contributing it.

Family facts, profiles, and disagreement

Family memories may be incomplete or disputed. Live On preserves sources, confidence, comments, confirmations, proposed corrections, and revision history. A profile or claim should not be treated as an official government, medical, legal, or genealogical determination.

Members should search for an existing person or pet before proposing another profile. Live On may suggest possible duplicates but will not knowingly merge people automatically where identity is uncertain.

Review and visibility

New contributions and profile information may begin as private or proposed records. Family visibility depends on the applicable contributor, represented-person, steward, or organizer review process. The organizer may approve, reject, withdraw, or restrict material to protect privacy and archive integrity.

Storage and Google Drive

The archive owner authorizes Google Drive storage. Family members do not receive direct Drive access through Live On. “Saved to family archive” indicates that the application completed its configured archive process, but users should still maintain appropriate independent backups of irreplaceable originals.

Withdrawal and account closure

Eligible private drafts may be discarded by their contributor. Published or approved material uses a withdrawal process so active visibility can be removed while preserving a limited audit or recovery record. Removing a profile or membership does not automatically erase other relatives’ lawful contributions, provenance, or backup records.

Availability and changes

Live On is provided on an “as available” basis. Features may change, pause, or be discontinued. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that every device, browser, media format, third-party service, or historical statement will work or remain accurate.

Disclaimer and limitation

To the extent permitted by law, Live On LLC disclaims implied warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service. Nothing in these Terms limits rights or liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Before filing a claim, the parties should make a reasonable effort to resolve the matter informally.

Changes and contact

We may update these Terms as the service develops. The effective date above identifies the current version. Questions should be directed to the Live On family organizer who provided access or to the support email displayed in the archive’s Google authorization information.
